Embrace Your Freakishness!

IMG_4945

After it poured outside for most of the day, it finally turned sunny out just after 4, so I got off my butt and headed out onto Main Street with the hopes of finding some sweet soul to interview.

Brittney’s look appealed to me, and when I asked her if I could interview her she obliged. Her answer to my question about whether or not she’s ever felt like a freak or an outsider, and if she has what’s helped her through it, was great. Brittney (brittney@laceembrace.com) suggests “EMBRACING IT”–how apropos considering she works at Lace Embrace. I wholeheartedly agree. As they say, let your freak flag fly!

If you’re ever interested in a corset, sexy lingerie, old-fashioned clothing, or pin-up style outfits go visit Brittney at Lace Embrace Atelier on Main (or check out Scout just off Main which is owned by the same person).

Amanda’s Got Lots To Say About Vancouver!

IMG_4465

I had the pleasure of teaching Amanda for 2 months at the end of 2015, and I loved getting to spend time with this passionate 18 year-old from Belgium! Amanda actively sought out all of the fun places to go and great places to eat in Vancouver. If she ever wants to have a job as a tour guide in Vancouver, I think there’s one waiting for her!

While Amanda is travelling back to Belgium this Saturday, she is still making sure each of her days are jam-packed with activities in Vancouver. Poutine is the last meal in Vancouver she’ll be having before heading to the airport Saturday. If you want to get some info about Amanda’s favourite places in Vancouver, then please watch her interview.

Victoria, Hiro, and Shlomo Think They’re Freaks and Outsiders…But It’s OK Because We All Are: I Agree!

l to r: Victoria, Hiro, and Shlomo

I asked my usual 2 questions today, and the responses I got to the second one (If you’ve ever felt like a freak or an outsider, what has helped/is helping you through it?) was met with some invigorating responses.

Victoria said what’s helped her is, “The fact that everybody else is an outsider too. So we’re all from somewhere and that’s helped me.”

“We agree that it’s [Vancouver I’m assuming] a place for freaks, and that’s why we like it so much!”-Hiro

And to finish it all off Shlomo added, “Freak right out!”
